I think the Mavic is the first drone I would use to get close into objects. With the addition of the F2 lens and touch to focus giving a nice aspect on objects up close, adding the functionality of the tripod mode this really adds a capability I would not normally like to perform. THis could include flying through tight spaces, up close to rooftops for better appreciation of features or inspection.

The main concern is having a mishap and a moment of clash between the rotors on any object could result in a dangerous and certainly expensive tumble. It’s really nice to see DJi off these rotor cages. I’m sure they reduce flight time and affect performance somewhat and are rather costly at $160 USD. Though if performing close in video or image work certainly worth the investment.
