Bringing home the Red Rhino. Ducati Multistrada 1200 Pikes peak
My riding ambitions have certainly evolved over the past few years. I used to drool over sports bikes and enjoy riding them on the street very much. Though as anyone knows that rides sportsbikes on the street, the enjoyment means you have to endure somewhat. It may be the straight ride you have to take to get to the fun twisties, the attention they draw from the feds or even the fatigue the aggressive position applies over a good day out.
On the big touring/duel sport machines all these problems vanish, And while you certainly pay a penalty on aesthetics and nimbleness of the ride you would be amazed how some of these machines felt.
So I now have a place in my heart for a big bouncy off-road wannabe and focused on a rare limited edition of the Ducati Mulistrada pikes peak. It’s not a rough and ready as the KTM 990, KLR 650 or the well loved BMW 12, but for my 90% road touring and 10% light gravel fireroads I’m hoping it’s a perfect match.
